Microsoft warns Windows PCs also vulnerable to 'Freak' attacks
Microsoft Corp has warned its millions of customers that their Windows PC are vulnerable to attacks which exploits “Freak” security vulnerability which had initially believed to only affect Mac computers and mobile devices.
On Tuesday this week, the news on the vulnerability of the millions of people who are using Windows PC surfaced when 9 security experts revealed that people who are using devices that run on IOS and Mac operating system by Apple Inc as well as the Android Browser by Google Inc are vulnerable to cyber attacks as a result of due to ubiquitous internet encryption technology.
On Thursday a security advisory was issued out by Microsoft warning its customers that their personal computers are also vulnerable to such attacks.
If hackers succeed in attacking once PC they will be able to spy on each and every communication that you make as well as infect your personal computer with malicious software, the 9 security experts said on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, The Washington Post reported that the fbi.gov and whitehouse.gov were also vulnerable to such attacks adding that the government has taken measures to ensure that they are secured.
According to Ivan Ristic, a security expert and director of engineering for Qualys Inc, a cyber security firm, exploiting the vulnerabilities which are currently present is very difficult and it might end up taking the hackers lots and lots of hours for them to be able to crack the encryption which they will use to launch an attack.
